Perjuangan Yang Belum Selesai

Sajak by Tun:

Sesungguhnya tidak ada yang lebih menyayatkan
dari melihat bangsaku dijajah
Tidak ada yang lebih menyedihkan
dari membiarkan bangsaku dihina

Air mata tiada ertinya
sejarah silam tiada maknanya
sekiranya bangsa tercinta terpinggir
dipersenda dan dilupakan

Bukan kecil langkah wira bangsa
para pejuang kemerdekaan
bagi menegakkan kemuliaan
dan darjat bangsa
selangkah beerti mara
mengharung sejuta dugaan

Biarkan bertatih
asalkan langkah itu yakin dan cermat
bagi memastikan negara
merdeka dan bangsa terpelihara
air mata sengsara
mengiringi setiap langkah bapa-bapa kita

Tugas kita bukan kecil
kerana mengisi kemrdekaan
rupanya lebih sukar dari bermandi
keringat dan darah menuntutnya

Lagi pula apalah ertinya kemerdekaan
kalau bangsaku asyik mengia dan menidakkan,
mengangguk dan membenarkan,
kerana sekalipun bangganya negara
kerana makmur dan mewahnya,
bangsaku masih melata
dan meminta-minta di negaranya sendiri

Bukan kecil tugas kita
meneruskan perjuangan kemerdekaan kita
kerana rupanya selain memerdekakan,
mengisi kemerdekaan itu jauh lebih sengsara

and this is by yours truly:

Negara ini perlu bangkit meneraju peradaban dunia

Minda kita sudah lama terpinggir dan terbelenggu …

Retreat

CintaAyu, Pulai Springs

Cintaayu_1 I will be here in this so called world-class golf and recreation resort designed like an ancient royal Malay palace, for a few days for a regional conference organised by my company.

Good food. Great company of colleagues. Nice retreat.

Panti Asuhan … kasihani kami semua

Panti_asuhan I was invited to participate in an amal jariah work in one shelter home for orphans and destitute women in Titiwangsa.

It’s very sad and my heart sank to the lowest low, when seeing them. Those innocent children. Those abused and battered women.

The event was organised by a large corporate company. My company was invited as we are one of their business partners. That day, we did some house-keeping, some painting works and clean up the whole premise.

The saddest of all is that knowing we (the privileged ones) went there, with our banner, the mock cheque presentation, our fully geared attires, nice food, posing here and there, shared jokes and fun with the dwellers … and then come back home to the warmth and coziness of our homes.

And our kids, they have their cool daddy with them. Who called them sayang and hugged them day and night and even dokong them once in the while (not my eldest la, the twelve year old, he is now five foot six inches), and entertained all their needs.

Thanks to Puan Jay of SMK Bandar Sunway for the foodstuff donation. You too … Puan Ina. By the way, congrats to both of you for getting the Kementerian Master scholarship.

p/s: I reached Titiwangsa area a bit early and lepak for a while near the tasik while reading Jeffrey Archer’s First Among Equals and a mugful of teh tarik. Many people do their morning walks or jogging round the lake. Mannn … these people, they do come in different shapes and sizes, some of them, may need to jog here 24-7.

Uzbekiswhere?

It’s two down, two to go. Actually, there’s plenty more but this is for the sake of brevity.

We just got an order for one mega project in Turkmenistan to supply our solutions for the onshore gas terminal and offshore platforms.

These are a cool RM 11 million. And once, we get the main order, there will be more to come.

Syukur. All the hard work, the strategies, all the lobbying, all the travelling … finally paid off.

Turkmenistan is a country facing the Caspian Sea and bordering Uzbekistan.

Uzbekiswhere?

Wahai Jiwa Yang Tenang

Bangsar, me on an annual leave

Going Extra Terrestrial

Cyberjaya

I was in a restricted area in Cyberjaya while doing a Proof of Concept (POC) testing using a terrestrial station communicating with a communication satellite (comsat) via C-band. The signal from my laptop workstation traveled approximately 500 milliseconds off a satellite geosynchronous orbit some 22,300 miles above the Earth.

That’s quite a mouthful right.

And what was this I’m doing is part of my unorthodox approach to win a mega project somewhere in the jungle of Borneo.

The World is One’s Oyster

It has been a while, since I write anything in this blog. Well, I don’t think anybody cares anyway for that matter.

1. Unlike the 3.5-million-in-2-months visitors to Tun’s blog where people (yours truly included) seem cannot get enough of his wisdom on things that matter most, i.e. Malaysian’s survival against the folly and destructive nature of Pak Lala the flip-flopper.

2. I had a nice time over an early dinner with my school buddy Bill at Chinoz on the Park KLCC. Thanks Bill for blanja-ing me. Next time we meet, it will be on teman le pulak. As you know I really loved oysters. In fact whenever I dine with my clients, I’ll make sure that the restaurant serves this zinc-rich, testosterone induced shellfish. Years ago, I could eat 2 dozens of oysters at one go. But now anything a little over half a dozen will be just nice. And FYI Bill, I’m not ‘economical with the truth’ as what some lady told you before.

3. By the way, this week I’ll be looking forward for some events. Maybe out of those events, some might change the course of my life, my world. God willing.

4. … speaking of which reminds me of an Oprah show I ‘tak sengaja tertengok’. The guest Maria Shriver (Mrs Schwarzenegger) talking about her book "Just Who Will You Be?" which really makes me ponder. Eh, betul jugak cakap minah ni.
