I’m a Jolly Good Fellow

Today, 8th March 2009, I’m a jolly good fellow:

For I’m a jolly good fellow, for I’m a jolly good fellowFor I’m a jolly good fellow, which nobody can deny.
Which nobody can deny, which nobody can denyFor I’m a jolly good fellow, for I’m a jolly good fellow.
For I’m a jolly good fellow, which nobody can deny.

Sistem Jepun

Kichijoji (somewhere in Greater Tokyo)

When I reached Narita Airport, I felt like I was really lost. When I took the Japan Railway map, it looked more complicated that the London subway, with more than 2 dozen railway lines, each with different colour coding. But then, I was totally wrong. In fact, it was so damn easy. In fact, the whole system (the Japanese system) is really piece of cake.

For example to get to Tokyo Disneyland (had a wonderful time here), I have to take the Keiyo Line which stops at Maihama Station. From there, I proceed to Kichijoji Station via the same Keiyo Line to Tokyo Main Station (with more than six different train integrating to each other) and change to the famous Yamanote Line and onto Chuo Line to Kichijoji.

Things that I realised:

  1. The Japs are very trendy lot
  2. The train and busses are very efficient to the dot
  3. They are very friendly, trying to help even if they don’t know
  4. Most of them don’t speak English, or really very bad engrish
  5. The tv stations are crystal clear like blue-ray discs
  6. The internet is at lightning speed at gigabit per seconds
  7. I don’t see any Bangla or Indon around to do odd jobs, all by Japanese
  8. They know marayshia

Sejuk-Sejuk Tokyo a.k.a Tokyo Drift

KLIA MAS Golden Lounge

For the past week, I have been traveling a lot. Last Tuesday I was in Miri. Spent two days there, on business with leisure at the Miri Marriot. Then off to Bintulu using MASWings’ Fokker 50 turboprop aircraft. Back from Bintulu, Jay and me took the convenient KTM shuttle train service (yeap, they have it launched recently) from KL Sentral to Ipoh to visit my dear Ahwaz on STAR Sports Day, which took us only 3 hours.

We arrived at 12.45 midnight and checked into the rustic Majestic Station Hotel. Syok betul, dapat ‘get away’ macam ni. Hope that the other hotel guests don’t mind the noise (right …).

A full day rest at Sunway, now I’m off again. Leaving on the jetplane to Tokyo. I’m attending a seminar at Yokohama and then a meeting at my company’s International Headquarters (yeap again, I’m working with a Japanese company) in Mitaka prefecture Tokyo.

Having worked for almost 3 years in this company, people are asking why I haven’t gone to Japan, whereas contrary to almost all of them, I have been visiting the Europe and the US head offices. I’ll tell them later, why.

Anyway, while in Japan I’m eagerly wanted to meet Ultraman. My elder sis used to tell me that when I was four or five years old, whenever I wanted to make some statement I’ll did the zap thing to everyone.

When I was like nine years old, I came across the novel Sejuk-Sejuk Tokyo written by Wijaya Mala. Seriously, that book was nothing to me at that tender age, as I literally read all my dad’s Dewan Satera and Dewan Bahasa monthly subscription issues. I started to use the word ‘klise’ (cliché) in my writing before I was even twelve.

Anyway, hope that I will have a great journey drifting into Tokyo.
